Resonance might explain
how your soul knew
what mine craved,
placing words lithe and terrible
into my empty hands.

Whence did you come
and how are you called?
What constellation
gave sign that my
heart was ripe, my mind
supple enough to recieve
your verse?

Darkest wisdom of spirit
whispers you are one
who will not betray.
Ever true to instinct,
bolstering me with language
strong, surprising and new.

Yet your quiet economy
of eloquence overwhelms
me like a tidal wave
and, flushed, I walk away.
